Intro

To start off, this is the fifth time—yes, fifth—I’ve started on a blog. Why did I fail the first four times? Plain and simple lazy. Before I get carried away with glorifying my personal flaws (I’m addicted to self-deprecation), let’s get back to the heart and soul of this blog.

Movies. Flicks. Moving pictures. Motion pictures. Film. Whatever you choose to call it, this blog mainly revolves around film in all its various forms and functions. Being a child of the twentieth century and a man of the twenty-first, I will inevitably focus mainly on film in digital media. And while I may occasionally dwell upon independent efforts and non-English works, the films closest to my heart are still those made by Hollywood studios.

By now, you would probably have guessed: This is going to bore you to tears. But fear not. This blog got started because my wife, Sri, believes for some reason that I should write about movies (it’s more likely that she thinks this will stop me from boring her to tears with my endless movie babble). So, expect a few “fun” posts (that’s what she calls them) from Sri from time to time. You’ll know when it’s her as our writing tones are quite different. (By the way, she’s also the resident aesthete for this blog; all original illustrations here are hers.)

Alright, I’m off for now. I’ll return in a day or two with some thoughts on the end of HD-DVD/Blu-ray format war, and what lies ahead.
